Not sure how many times we can say “we’re back” before it becomes taboo? Pretty sure we’ve already made it to taboo, but f*ck it. It’s 2025, and the rules of the game have changed! Today, we’ve gathered in the name of fashion to discuss all things shiny and…old. Because, let’s be honest, new is so last year.

CM: I’ve had a rough go of 2025, but eBay seems to keep me sane. If there’s one thing I love, it’s scrolling. I’d argue that scrolling on eBay or depop is better for me and the environment. I am avoiding targeted ads for new things completely designed for me and my taste (thanks, capitalism) and instead getting hits of dopamine from finding a steal of a deal and bidding. Like what a joy to come in at 30% off and win, I love to win.
AB: Dear reader, do not sleep on eBay, it is a true unsung hero. However, my scrolling this month took me to TRR and Vestiaire. For me, this is simply muscle memory. I am an active seller for Vestiaire so it really is out of habit to always be scrolling there. As with eBay, the key is to save it in your favorites and the next day you’ll get an offer from the seller that's usually around $15-$30 off the asking price. Sometimes it's even more! The first price you see is not always what you have to commit to. It's the long game if you’re willing to play.
CM: I genuinely feel like the winter months are my most creative…fashionably. I have a keener eye, I embrace a little moxie and color, I try new things and I plan, prepare and pretend to know what I’ll want when the sun comes out, tomorrow (see what I did there). There are very specific things I’m shopping for in the right now, but I do a lot of shopping for the eventually. Let me give you an example, I bought these flats (they’re out of stock now so sorry, here’s another similar version from my gals at Ref) in December, DECEMBER. Will I be wearing mesh flats before May? Absolutely not, it’s currently -25 degrees here. Will I have the cutest toesies in town come summer? Absolutely. What can I say? I like to be prepared.

The Shopping List
CM: Things I have already bought secondhand include: a Givenchy bracelet to go with my new Gucci watch, a Ralph Lauren leather blazer (even though I’m dreaming of this Gucci blazer). I almost bought some Miu Miu heels, but I wasn’t confident they weren’t fake.
CM: Things I very seriously considered buying and/or bid on just for funsies: This Jackie Gucci shoulder bag, the Louis Vuitton Speedy in blue (I bid on green too), a very classic and chic Salvatore Ferragamo Gancini bag, these adorable Gucci horsebit kitten heels, so many Dior belts (and apparently Coach has some cuties, too), this Fendi bag, this Furla bag YUM, and clearly the list goes on and on.
AB: What I have my eyes on include: Burberry vintage-esque huggie hoops with an elegant pop of navy, another banger Jackie Gucci bag in the perfect timeless beige (spendier, yes, but just look at her!!), recently been in real need of replacing my trustee Vince black pumps I got second hand with an upgrade. Maybe a Christian Dior will do (you bet I’ll get these less than $300)! Or do I go an ultra-modern route and opt for the CHEAP and well loved Bottega’s? There is nothing my cobbler can’t fix. Perhaps I’ll meet in the middle with this pristine pair of Salvatore Ferragamo pumps. All of these shoes in mind I need for this insane Lemaire dress I’m not sure I can live without.
Deep Cuts
CM: I made an OR vision board! Hopefully this inspires some of you lil snowflakes to do the same. This year I made three—personal, work and bachelorette (lol I got carried away with inspiration).
AB: After looking at said vision board, my biggest and most impactful takeaway is consistency. TY CM. (oh and the collection of purses ;))
CM: This lamp, that’s it.
AB: I think about this Olivia Rodrigo look often. With the right keywords, and lots of weeding, the best I could find were as follows; this Ref mini, Danielle Guizio (duh Olivia is known to wear this brand), and this not the same, but has a major collar moment like Olivia’s, and is still super feminine Sandro tweed dress.
CM: Pulitzer Kenny’s bootcut jeans were the show at the Super Bowl—AB and I immediately debriefed via Instagram DM.
AB: I save things often for the newsletter and as I was referring back to my saves I saw this little video at the top. CM and I do really cool things, and as you already know, create fashion magic together. Here is a little something we styled together that we are proud of and are manifesting more of going into this year. Go team OR!
CM: I have a very cute pair of cow-print straight leg pants, and cannot wait to pair them with my butter yellow cardigan in the spring, all because this photo hit my Pinterest feed.
Before You Go
CM: The start of the New Year is honestly such a challenge. There is so much joy! inspiration! excitement! And then January 73rd hits followed by February 20-whatever and it seems like the future will never be at your doorstep. I’m embracing the slow-down-time instead of trying to hurry up. Which actually means I was rereading the Fourth Wing series in preparation for book #3, and am now fully invested in Onyx Storm. Unless it’s dragons, I’m not interested in hearing about it. Jk, love you, mean it.
AB: Piggybacking off that, the slow-down-season is something to be celebrated, and to do that apparently means scrolling secondhand and reading. Therefore, I started my first book club! I host the first meet up next week. What should I wear?! Wish me luck. xxoo
CM: Send pics of your outfit AB!!!
Good luck on the (shopping) apps! Ciao for now. xx
